What is Cal-SO 100?

Cal-SO 100 is pure synthetic gypsum, created as a by-product from coal-fired power plants.  Technology has proven gypsum to be an effective fertilizer, soil conditioner, and soil amendment.

Cal-SO 100 is a fertilizer, containing 20% calcium.  Calcium is vital to maintaining cellular integrity in plants. It promotes early rooting, increases strength and vigor, and increases seed production.  Cal-SO 100 also contains 15% plant-ready sulfur.  Sulfur is integral in protein synthesis of plants, which also increases vigor, and insect and disease tolerance. 

Cal-SO 100 is a conditioner.  Cal-SO 100 improves soil structure, which prevents surface crusting, promotes seed emergence, and increases the infiltration rate of water into the soil while reducing run-off and erosion.

Cal-SO 100 is an amendment.  Cal-SO 100 binds clay particles in the soil together, allowing air and water to move more freely through the soil.  As a result, toxic salts leach out of the top soil more quickly.  Additionally, Cal-SO 100 provides usable calcium to crops without affecting the soil pH, unlike liming agents.
